On September 22nd, 2006, art teacher Sydney McGee was suspended from her position at the Wilma Fisher Elementary School in the city of Frisco, an affluent suburb north of Dallas, Texas. The suspension followed a planned field trip that Ms. McGee had organized and conducted in April to tour the Dallas Museum of Art with 89 students, at least 12 parents and a museum guide.
The 'Peace Wreath' controversy.
On Monday, November 28; Bob Kearns, President of the Loma Linda Homeowners' Association, retracted his threat to fine homeowner Lisa Jensen over her display of a peace symbol-shaped wreath from her home's exterior wall.
